Curriculum Vitae
Research Interests:

The main area of ongoing research is in the design of polymeric biomedical device for drug delivery and tissue engineering applications. Research work include synthesis, structural and dynamics studies of complex polymer structures such as microsized gel phases, microbubbles and microcapsules, supramolecular assemblies of natural and synthetic polymers. Instrumental facilities and techniques currently used for structural and functional characterization of such systems are spectroscopy (fluorescence, CD, IR, NMR), microcalorimetry, rheology, static and dynamic light scattering, quasi-elastic and elastic incoherent neutron scattering and confocal laser scanning microscopy.
Current Research projects:
• Design of targeted polymeric microbubbles, endowed with a bioengineered surface for in situ ultrasound assisted delivery of therapeutic molecules.
• Cell adhesion properties of IPN of methacrylated poly(vinyl alcohol) and chitosan.
